"Hi, dear moms! I want to tell you about our experience with stem cell treatment so you know what to expect."
This is an account of a trip for stem cell treatment from Yuncheng to Shangrao. A mother and her child are undergoing rehabilitation at Boya Hospital in Yuncheng. The child's name is Shatlyk, he is 5 years old, from Turkmenistan.
Preparing for the Trip
"We started preparing for the trip by getting all the necessary tests done in advance — blood work, an MRI, and an ECG, all done at the hospital in Yuncheng. That helped us avoid a long wait in Shangrao, since all the results were ready by the time we arrived. The staff at Boya Hospital supported us and gave us clear instructions, which made us feel much more confident."
The Trip to Shangrao
"We planned the trip itself carefully too. First, we took a taxi to the railway station in Yuncheng, then a high-speed train to Xi'an. The train was clean and fast, and the views from the window were beautiful. In Xi'an, station staff helped us find a taxi, which was a huge help since we were traveling with a small child. From there we flew to Shangrao. The flight took about two hours, and the flight attendants were very attentive. We brought a stroller along, which made getting around much easier."
Arrival in Shangrao and Accommodation
"When we arrived in Shangrao, hospital staff met us and helped us get to the hotel. The hotel was clean and comfortable, with free breakfast, which gave us a chance to rest a bit before the big day. In the morning, we were taken to the hospital for the stem cell transplant."
Consultation and Procedure
"At the hospital, we started with a consultation with the doctor. I was able to ask all the questions that concerned me — about possible complications and how the procedure might affect the progress we'd already made in rehabilitation. The doctors said serious complications don't occur, but that we needed to avoid MRIs and X-rays for three months so as not to damage the stem cells. When I raised my worry that my child might lose the progress he'd made, the doctors reassured me that this doesn't happen."
"The procedure itself went well. Shatlyk tolerated the anesthesia well and came around quickly. Afterward, he had to lie still for 6 hours so the cells could take hold — he couldn't even have a pillow under his head. I thought this would be hard for him, but to my surprise, Shatlyk handled it calmly. The doctors and nurses checked on him often to make sure he was comfortable. The nurses were very caring and helped both of us, mother and child. Three days after the procedure, we already started rehabilitation, and so far everything is going well. We're hoping to see the first results within 15-20 days."
Our Stay in Shangrao
"After the procedure, we were offered a city tour, but we decided to save Shatlyk's strength and not take any chances. Even so, we got to see the city from the taxi window, and it struck us as very beautiful and modern, with many lakes and interesting buildings."
The Trip Home
"The trip back also went fairly smoothly. First, we flew back to Xi'an, where we spent the night at a hotel. The only difficulty was that no one met us at the airport, so we had to find a taxi ourselves. That wasn't easy since we were tired and had a child with us, but in the end everything worked out fine. The next day we took the train back to Yuncheng, and the rest of the trip went without any problems."
