CP — where it's treated in the network

Cerebral palsy is a group of persistent disorders of motor development and posture maintenance. Across the network's clinics in China and Uzbekistan, teams of rehab physicians, speech and occupational therapists tune the program: Western methods (PT, OT, ST) combined with traditional Chinese medicine — scalp acupuncture, Tuina, herbal formulas. A network case manager will help match the right clinic for the child's GMFCS level and family goals.

About the condition

What is Cerebral Palsy?

Cerebral palsy is a group of persistent, non-progressive disorders of motor development and posture. ICD-10 codes it as G80 in six forms: spastic tetraplegia (G80.0), diplegia (G80.1), hemiplegia (G80.2), dyskinetic (G80.3), ataxic (G80.4) and mixed (G80.8). It occurs in roughly 1–2 of every 1,000 newborns.

Families reach the network case manager at different stages: after the first diagnosis confirmation, looking for a long-term program; after surgery (SDR, SPML, osteotomy) needing recovery near the surgeon; for an intensive course matched to a specific form or age; or for home support between trips to China. Details on causes, symptoms, diagnostics and realistic outlook are in the expandable blocks below.
